I used to go backpacking until I lost my foot in an accident. Mt goal was to allways get back to nature and be as far from other folks as possible. I bought the X-cover to take me and my wife, who has never camped in backcountry out to the wilderness in relative comfort.
The tent is very easy to setup and take down. It is quite easy for us both to get in and out of even with our dog. The large mesh windows allow in a ton of breeze when its warm and canvass keeps the heat in when its cool.
The mattress is very comfortable and we both sleep well. Don't think Ill sleep on the ground ever again.

Love my new RTT. Arrived after a long awaited time, but the customer service and communication from iKamper was phenomenal. So far I have used it three times and it seems to bring the rain here in Washington State. Lol. Easy to use, keeps me very dry and warm. I did purchase some leveling blocks for when I boondocks camp in unlevel areas. My first trip I was able to camp over a mud puddle of a campground with no issues.

I can’t begin to explain how much we love our X-Cover! We spent 11 days in it for a cross country road trip. Through the rough Kansas winds, to the sand storms in Utah and 37 degree temps in the Arizona morning, this tent is absolutely worth every penny! No complaints and even the mattress was not as bad as people make it out to be. IKamper has a completely satisfied customer! Can’t wait to purchase the annex room and put it to work!

The mattress is real bad on these. It's very hard, and actually thinner than listed. It's listed at 2.5 inches but only half of it is that thickness, the other half is only 2 inches.
Something this expensive shouldn't need an extra sleeping pad, and should come with a condensation layer.
Additionally putting up the rainfly is a little sketchy, the metal poles take a lot force to bend into place and it feels a little dangerous to put them under that much tension. I wouldn't want to do it in the rain, or when on unsure footing.
I'm still deciding how i feel about the tent. I've only had it for one season, but if i was doing it again I would probably go with a less expensive brand. I'm not sure if I got what i paid for.

This is an impressive and roomy RTT that’s easy to set up and take down. For the price however, I’d expect a better sleeping comfort out of the box, but with the addition of some Exped mattresses It’s a great set up. It would be amazing if iKamper could partner with Exped and make perfect fitting self inflating mattresses in lieu of the provided foam.

Love the tent. I am an avid camper and had a Tepui for years and needed a little more space. Matched this tent with the Cloud Layer 2-person bag and air mattress ("CL") and it was like sleeping on our bed at home. We took out the mattresses knowing we were going to do the CL set up and added a 3/4 inch puzzle mat to the lower side of the tent which fit perfect with cutting. As for the tent: 1) held up to wind and rain, 2) clear rain cover offered great night views, 3) easy set up and take down even with CL set up (had to suck air out of pad but expected as it is thick), 4) plenty of space, and 5) durable and well-working material (zippers, fabric, windows, etc). Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I really wish you’d offer a return/exchange policy.

we are happy to have such a beautiful roof tent as the Ikamper X-cover. Already when we bought a Peugeot Rifter, this car encouraged us to go on trips. Now with a roof tent in it, we want to go beyond everyday life

We received our tent during the first week of the pandemic, and since Michigan is cold and we couldn’t travel we just installed it! It’s amazing! It was easy for my 6’5” husband to install and the mounting brackets are very secure and user friendly. The breeze is amazing being up off the ground. We haven’t camped yet, but I took a nap in there this afternoon and the mattress, despite being thin, was comfy! We just ordered the awning!

Love our x cover!

My wife and I love the ease of setting up/down of the Xcover. The mattress is a bit too firm but and putting a mattress topper on. We camp often and will be putting this iKamper to use. I will have a better review after a year of use, but as of now no complaints.

Perfect size for family. Comfortable foam. Easy to open and close. Very good ventilation for hot weather. If you need the racks don’t think it twice. When closed the size goes well with a couple of sleeping bags and pillows.

The tent has a great design. It’s not really made for anyone 6ft or over if you’re going to have someone else in the tent. The crossbar inbetween the mattresses is very pronounced and without an additional mattress that will be on your hip or butt all night. It goes up with ease and is light. I am already experiencing significant fading on the cover of the tent. I got it late august ‘19. The shipping was two weeks longer than promised and missed my initial hunt due to the delay. It look like a great tent, but not for what I paid and the lack of customer support. I do have buyers remorse.

Our first use was at Cape Disappointment in Washington. It was fantastic. One of our favorite aspects is the matress and the easy setup. We also really like that our awning wraps around and meets the base of the tent so that we have lots of coverage from the sun, rain, whatever comes out way. We love it very much, we try to find any excuse to us it.

I just got my ikamper xcover and mounted it to my toyota sequoia with my boys. Looking forward to a worldnof adventure in Beautiful British Columbia.

Overall great execution by the iKamper team on the X-Cover, huge RTT, and the materials are great. Hinges are strong and should last a long time. The hardtop design of this RTT really opens the door for additional options. RTT mounts are also 5/5, great design. The black finish on the top does get really hot in the sun, and I'd personally like to see a better mattress at this price point. They say "memory foam" but it feel like cheap "regular" foam. Can't complain here, overall a great tent.

Were the aluminum deck hinges are, there is a large opening on both sides. Had to contend with insects due to openings. Called company, sent pics, they said they would let quality control know. No action on their part

Brought this tent during Labor Day on some wild camping at Big Sur, California. Comfortably slept three people and our dog. Sky view was perfect for our star gazing.

Only one trip out so far, found the tent very easy to set up and the bed to be comfortable. We are off to a good start very happy with the purchase!!!
